Marielle Plaisir

Marielle Plaisir is a French-Caribbean artist, designer, and public art creator based in Miami. Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, monumental public commissions, and immersive VR experiences. Her work has been presented at major international art fairs including Art Basel, Zona Maco, and The Armory Show. She was awarded the Southern Prize (2020) and the prestigious Knight New Work Award

(Academy of Arts and Sciences / Knight Foundation) for her VR piece The Day I Heard the Sounds of the World.

Plaisir’s works are held in numerous museum collections, including the Weatherspoon Museum (NC, USA), Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (USA), MOCA Museum Miami (USA), NSU Museum Fort Lauderdale (USA), Gregg Museum (USA), Frost Museum (USA), MINT Museum (USA), Museum of Aquitaine (France), Quai Branly Museum (Paris), Dapper Museum (Paris), MACMA (Martinique), and the Contemporary Art Foundation of Guadeloupe (Guadeloupe).
