Lives and works in London

Ayesha Feisal is a British-Sierra Leonean artist who lives and works in London. Within her art, Feisal creates complex, amorous forms, drawing inspiration from her interest in psychological states and using the human form as a means of exlporing the psyche.

Influenced by the painting styles of the expressionist and futurist movements, her intrigue comes from how artists of such eras depicted meaning, experiences, movement and the passing of time. She is drawn to portray characters who move beyond the impact of circumstance, environment and social condition.

In 2015 she became a founding member of the Black British Female Artist (BBFA). The BBFA collective addresses the invisibility of UK’s Black female artists and their disparity in prominence to male counterparts..

Recent exhibitions include the Royal Academy of Arts (Summer Exhibition), 2022, Reclaiming the Magic, 2021 and the ING Discerning Eye exhibition, 2019.

Feisal has been featured in the Evening Standard, Harpers Bazaar Arabia, ALT Africa and Petrie Inventory
